Campaigner: Militarisation of Science Education
50% full-time equivalent (18.5 hours/week); £30,595 [SCP 18] pro rata
9 months
Scientists for Global Responsibility (SGR) is seeking a UK-based campaigner to work with its team.
SGR is a small, but influential, research and campaign organisation which promotes responsible science and technology. We have a particular focus on work that contributes to peace, social justice, and environmental sustainability. We have a membership of about 600, mainly natural scientists, social scientists, and engineers.
The campaign post is focused on challenging the increasing militarisation of science and technology education in UK universities and schools, and providing information on alternative careers paths for students. The campaigner will update and expand SGR’s existing resources, and work with our campaign and education networks to promote these resources to students and staff. Resources will include a combination of written and visual elements, such as articles, videos, and short briefings. The work pattern is negotiable.
All SGR employees work from home.
