Projects

Science4Society Week  was a annual collection of science education activities, designed to inspire young people. It was run by SGR from 2015 to 2022. The activities all linked with environmental, peace, health, or social justice themes. The teaching resources used are still available to download via the Science4Society website.

SGR has published five reports focused on the military influence on science and technology, as well as numerous articles and presentations. The main outputs are listed in this section.

SGR has produced regular commentary on the issue of arms conversion for a sustainable society for many years, generally in the form of articles and presentations. SGR has published two in-depth reports on the issue of corporate influence on science and technology, as well as producing numerous other outputs. 2013-2016

SGR published a report examining the environmental and social dimensions of shale gas and fracking, together with some articles. The main outputs are listed here.

2000–2011

SGR published ten briefings as part of its project work on ethical careers in science and technology. We have also published articles and given presentations. The main outputs are listed in this section.

1999-2009
SGR formed this study group recognising that population is an important component of sustainability, which can, however, only be assessed properly if explicitly linked with consumption.
